Man rushed to hospital after Croydon stabbing in middle of the day on busy road

A man was rushed to hospital earlier today (Thursday, July 11) after being stabbed in the street in Croydon.

Police arrived at Church Street, a major road in the area, after being called shortly before midday. There they found the victim, and paramedics got him to hospital.

The man's wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police also said that two 'males' have been arrested, though their ages were unconfirmed.

Both are in police custody, having been arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and robbery.

The Met Police said: "Police were called at approximately 11.20 on Thursday, July 11, to reports of a stabbing in Church Street.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man suffering a stab injury – he was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Two males were arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and robbery. Both remain in custody. A crime scene remains in place."
